The Ultimate Sacrifice

Posted in Uncategorized on August 13, 2008 by superficialcynic

Now my previous blogs have all rather been light hearted and funny, but I was thinking to myself the other day, under what circumstances would someone choose to make the ultimate sacrfice (i.e sacrifice your own life to save others). I will try to keep the light heartedness and comedy with this blog but no guarantees.

The ultimate sacrifice. Choosing to give up your own life in order to save another. We’ve all seen this in movies, where secret service agents, make their heroic dive across the president of the USA to take a bullet for them in slow motion. If it came down to that for you would you actually do it? Some may say that they will unquestionably give up their life for a loved one, but in reality, would you be able to make that split second decision when faced with it. Lets face it, in reality we are all selfish on the inside but some more than others (i.e. me).

Personally, I will never make the ultimate sacrifice for anyone. I dont see a point in choosing to end your own life and save them when they wont get to spend any more time with you. The person you saved would probably just kick themselves and blame themselves for your death. If you did make the ultimate sacrifice I would attend your funeral if you were a close friend, even if the sacrifice wasnt for me. As I pointed out before, if I had the chance to make the ultimate sacrifice, I wouldnt, I would take out my gun, and put a bullet between the SOBs eyes, if they were trying to kill you. If I had a shotgun, be ready to duck for cover. If I didnt get them, in time then Im sorry but tough.

So is the ultimate sacrifice really worth it? If it is, would you be willing to make it? I suggest that you just carry a gun with you and pop that SOB in the head if they were trying to kill you.

Are Models any Good for Society?

Posted in Uncategorized on August 12, 2008 by superficialcynic

When we open a trashy magazine or a fashion catalogue, we see the face of models everywhere. While they may be the ones that we stare at on the runway , do we see them as role models for society, and do they even offer anything for society?

Models as role models. I think not. Models, while they may be hot (depending on personal preferences) really offer little to society. Strutting their stuff in a size 00 dress, and 8 inch heels, do we want children to aspire to be like them. Living off a diet of celery/carrot sticks and water they generally promote the image of bulimia and anorexia. Any person who thinks they can achieve the size of a model, get real. Unless you begin to starve yourself, get a stomach reduction surgery, and live your life at the gym, dont even think about looking like a supermodel. While they may earn large amounts of money, the higher they rise the harder they fall. Take Kate Moss, for example, she was on top of the world, with leading fashion housese ready to sign, massive contracts with her – then pictures of her cocaine habits surfaced and she was dropped like the atomic bomb on Hiroshima.

Ever wonder why  the top models, rarely do bikini modelling? Well, the simple answer is that if we were ever to see supermodels in a bikini, we wouldnt be focussing on the garment, rather the ribs of the supermodel, ready to pop out of their skin at any moment.  Models, may say they choose to model for high end fashion houses such as Armani and Gucci, the truth is that if they ever revealed their body to the public, they will be labelled anorexic or bulimic faster than you can blink.

Now models also rarely offer anything for society. They definitely do not promote a healthy body image one should aspire to achieve, nor do they give anything back to the people that made them. The only thing which I can think of that models offer to society is the fact that they may help some guys get through their teenage years (wonder what that could be?). If you stil dont get it the obvious answer is – what do guys like to stare at. Another thing that I think that models could possibly offer to society is entertainment (no, not what your thinking, all you testosterone driven guys out there). When they are strutting down their runway, if they happen to slip and fall, we all get to sit back and point and laugh.

So are models are any good for today’s society. I think the obvious answer is definitely not unless you wanna become anorexic and live life off carrot sticks.

Bigger is Not Always Better

Posted in Uncategorized on August 11, 2008 by superficialcynic

Is bigger really better? The age old question mankind has been asking since the time of the neanderthals, although some might debate neanderthals are not an extinct species. Hell I think I see one everyday. Back to the topic, IS BIGGER REALLY BETTER? The answer simply put is not always.

When people first here IS BIGGER REALLY BETTER, there minds jump straight to the bedroom. Whether its a set of bigger “melons” on a woman or a bigger set of “bats and balls” on a man we all think that bigger is automatically bigger. Society’s media portrays the ideal image of a woman, that should be a size 0 with an E cup set of breasts. This sudden urge for bigger sexual organs has sparked an increase in the cost for cosmetic surgery. Girls who want bigger boobs are often the young bimbos who are nothing but a waste of space in todays world. The typical girl/bimbo who wants a set of E cups would pobably be: “OMG that guy is so hot. I hope he notices my titties.”

While girls desire bigger breasts some men desire a bigger penis. Does the size of a penis really affect the satisfaction and pleasure one can give or get from sex? Some men often desire a bigger cock so much that they are willing to try anything from pills to surgery. While pills are often a fraud to get money, the surgery is often dangerous and what if the surgeon accidently removes your “leprechaun.” Then you can finally realise the dangers of not being satisfied with what you have.

If a couple genuinely has is passionate about the other, the size of their “equipment” shouldn’t matter.

Is bigger really better, doesnt only apply to the human body but also to someones ego. The bigger someone’s ego is, often the dumber they are. Typically people with a big ego have nothing to give to society except their crappy humour which very rarely funny, and their useless crap. The big ego usually comes attached to the dumbass meathead who has nothing to offer to society except for a hot body for girls to stare at. E.g. Meathead with big ego to friend “Did you see the way she was looking at me? She so totally wants to fuck me.” This dumbass can offer nothing to society except for the drool he lets out when he sees anything with a pair of legs and a set of tits. But eventually all people with a big ego must learn: what comes up must go down as well as the bigger your ego is the bigger you fall.

So do you think bigger is better? Big things usually come attached to blonde bimbos and dumbass meatheads. Eventually everyone must realise, big things are desired because they are usually unobtainable. I would like to end this post with a quote from one of my favourite tb shows: Alias.

“Why do men always want men cannot have?” Sydney Bristow

Charitable Donations

Posted in Uncategorized on August 10, 2008 by superficialcynic

Recently, some of friends have been seeking sponsorship for World Visions 40hr famine. Asking me for money was fine, but this one person had tried to scam me for more money (although unsuccessfully). If she had asked me to donate to her a second time I would have been more than happy to give her the money. However she chose to try and tell me I havent donated to her yet, and at that from that moment she wouldnt see a cent unless she earned it.

Now since it was for charity, I made her suffer for trying to wrong me. She underwent public humiliation and embarassment to earn this donation (rather large I might add). However, since I was feeling “charitable” I did not tell everyone and divulged this only to a few people. The tasks she had chose to perform all targeted her ex-boyfriend who happens to be one of my closest friends. I guess all in all we came out on the end, the girl got the donation, I got entertainment, and the ex didnt go empty handed as well.

Do our donations really go to help those poor children on TV? Honestly, I have always wondered whether or not that the donations we make to charity, ever reach those poor starving children overseas who have nothing. The charities are always placing advertising campaigns on television which isnt cheap by the way. To advertise in any type of media is rather expensive. So do our donations go to extremely costly media campaigns or the children in the developing world?  And if our money does reach the children, how much of it and when? Is it after they have done shooting their next advertisement and the change leftover is then given or is straight away where every hard earned dollar is given to help children?

Are our donations really charitable? Do we give people money because we feel nice and comapssioante, or is it for some other reason. While the end result may seem charitable,  why is it that we really give money? Some of the reasons i can think of include:

  • So we feel good about ourselves and that we have at least done something nice in our lifetime
  • To flaunt our money
  • To not look cheap infront of your mates
  • To feel get a few measly dollars added to your tax return (it is still cheaper to pay tax) unless you donate an extremely large amount

So next you make a donation, think about why we are really doing so and where the money will end up. I havent yet figured out why I donate.

Can there be a crisis of faith if faith is already in crisis?

Posted in Uncategorized on August 9, 2008 by superficialcynic

A close friend recently brought up the issue of crisis of faith. Although they were referring to their inner turmoils, it got me thinking. Is it possible to have a crisis of faith if crisis already exists within faith?

When the word Scientology is uttered, we immediately think of Tom Cruise, and the great flaw within the religion. Life in space, UFOs and who can forget immortality. Science fiction was the parent of this new faith which is linked to high profile people who arent liked very much. According to this flawed faith, believers can become immortal by simply getting rid of of crap from ur body literally. Everytime you piss, puke or crap you become closer to immortality (bulimics must at least be half way there). Suched a flawed fundamental within this so called faith, can it really be possible to have a crisis of faith regarding scientology?

Another religion which is also flawed, is Christianity.  Firstly, how can a Virgin (Mary) be mother to Jesus? Isnt that perhaps one of the first flaws people pick up on?  If there was an almighty god, why cant he protect those that inevitably die, especially the devoted followers who sacrifice everything to be closer to him/her/it? Christianity has told us all where Jesus turned one fish and one bread stick into many, enough to feed hundreds. Did all this food come from his bare hands, things cant be created in this world, only merely transformed from one form to another. Now when we talk about Christianity we also think of those poor boys who have been molested by priests. If Christians condemn homosexuality why are their most devout followers practicing it with poor innocent young boys? In light of the recent World Youth Day events I have picked up several flaws within the Catholic faith. The most obvious is what the hell is an 80-something yr old Pope doing at a Youth Day that lasts for a week. Also the Pope has deemed the use of condoms as wrong, and also supports the fact that abortions shouldnt be allowed. He has to choose one or the other he cant have it both ways. Its like a cop giving you marijuana then arresting you for it.

Faith is already in crisis, so why are people still having a crisis of faith. Faith was in crisis since day 1so really can a crisis exists within a crisis?

Boardroom VS Bedroom – Who has the power

Posted in Uncategorized on August 9, 2008 by superficialcynic

Women and men often debate whether there is a balance of power between the two sexes. However, this balance of power often depends on the the context of the situation. In general, women and men will always have power over the opposite sex whether its in the boardroom or the bedroom and definitely in the battlefield. A fine line exists between the boardroom and the bedroom but when this line is crossed everything comes tumbling down.

In the boardroom it is often perceived that men will have power over women. It is known that most CEOs of major corporations who are head of the boardroom happens to be men. How many women CEOs can you name? Now there have been two new television shows (Lipstick Jungle and Cashmere Mafia) which premiered last season that tried to convey the message that women can have power in the boardroom. However at work these women may belong in the boardroom but inevitably they still will answer to a man at the head of the table?

When the walls come down between the boardroom and the bedroom things get messy! Women and men alike, who are at the top of their fields, often mix business with pleasure and bring the boardroom home with them into the bedroom. High ranking business people will often find that they are easily exposed to sexual harassment suits, with people often lashing out after the meaningless but possibly passioante fling has been broken off. Anybody can file a sexual harassment claim but many must remember that executives will have a top notch legal department there just to sweep you under the rug. You can try and extort them for money but most comapnies will have a fund tucked away to pay you to shut the hell up. In these situations I suppose that men and women both have a balance of power here. The power in here always belongs to the person who is rich and successful, and not the person who is trying to screw their way up the corporate ladder to only be stopped by the glass ceiling because they are such a whore and word has spread.

In the bedroom, I think it is safe to say that women have the power. They have the goods that the men want, and often the men will do anything to try and get the goods, although some may never succeed as only mind games are being played. You never know who someone really is no matter how long you have known them. Some will surprise you, and some you would have seen coming. This power struggle in the bedroom isnt to be blamed on lack of communication. In society men are seen as pansy’s for trying to convey their feelings, and lets face it women always tell you the opposite of what they want. When they (women) tell you that its all right to whore around you can say goodbye to your relationship. By allowing women to dominate you in a relationship, you are demonstrating a few things: either that you are easily “whipped” or that you are so desperate to stay in that relationship or that you just want the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow where your “leprechaun” is determined to reach.

In this world there will never be a balance of power whether its in the boardroom or the bedroom. Just remember being a whore in either situation wont do you any good. Just make sure you know who has the power and in which room. If a balance of power between the sexes is ever achieved I will never live to see it.

Things from a new perspective

Posted in Uncategorized on August 8, 2008 by superficialcynic

In the past few years I have seen things mainly from only one perspective or maybe two, but in the past few days I have seen the world from a different view. I have always been known as a cold hearted superficial cynical SOB. In light of recent comments people have come to see me as a different person perhaps tarnishing my record as a cold hearted superficial cynical SOB. I had recently made a comment (completely false) in this persona and it completely put my friendship with someone in jeopardy. They burst into tears and I immediately felt remorse. With a friendship at stake I saw the awfulness of my comment and did two things that was completely uncharacteristic of me which I dont care to go into, but those involved will know what I am referring to. Luckily this friend was quick to forgive me, but sometimes people arent so lucky.

The events of that incident have made me to be even more cold and jaded to try and pick up the tattered shreds of my reputation, but inside I do have a conscience. Although people may not see it often it is in there just like a normal human being.

Yesterday someone had tried to wrong me and today they felt the wrath of my fury as well as the humiliation and embarassment that comes with the torture that can come with this type of mistake. In my defence everything was done to support charity but at someones expense. This also put my friendship with another person in jeopardy the results of which are still unknown. I decided to play god or possibly matchmaker today and this could have possibly brought back unwanted feelings for the two parties involved.

Now, in light of seeing people’s recent blogs I have seen some sides of people that I rarely get to see. Some choose to reveal their inner turmoils, which I didnt know existed and also brought out a whole new persona. A friend of mine had recently started this blogging craze and now I have been challenged to parody it. I will start by discussing a topic that comes out when two people drag a whole group of people into their high school dramas. While I personally like to deal with my issues alone some  choose to find supporters and show the other that they are in fact better than them.

Sitting on the fence is something I do not like to do. While it is admirable to not choose sides sitting on the fence doesnt show a great sense of loyalty. Even if your friends with two or more parties involved it is always the truth that you will always prefer one side over the other no matter how wrong that persons actions may be. Sitting on the fence is so boring, sure you may stay out of trouble but where’s the fun in that? Wouldnt the spikes of the white picket fence some of us dream of poke us in the ass or the some people’s asses are so big they dont even fit on the thin edge of the fence? People need to know that when a war breaks out we can’t all be Switzerland as theres only one of those, tucked away in western Europe.  Just beware, that choosing to sit on the fence all of the time will eventually come back and take a humugous chomp of your ass.
